Dear —,

Thank you so much for your submission to Plainsongs magazine. I am very sorry to say that we are unable to publish your work at this time, but I encourage you to continue to write and submit. Please note that many of our writers submitted work multiple times without success before one of their pieces was accepted for publication. I wish you all the best in life and writing, and again, thank you for allowing us to read your very fine work.

Sincerely, Eric R. Tucker, editor

Dear —,

Thank you so much for your recent submission to Plainsongs magazine. I am very sorry to say that we are unable to publish your work in the upcoming winter issue, but I encourage you to continue to write and submit. Please note that many of our writers submitted work multiple times without success before one of their pieces was accepted for publication in Plainsongs. I wish you all the best in life and writing, and again, thank you for allowing us to read your fine work--it was a privilege. I hope to hear from you again sometime soon.

Sincerely, Eric R. Tucker, editor

2020

Dear —,

Thank you so much for your submission to Plainsongs magazine's Spring/Summer 2020 issue. I am very sorry to say that we are unable to publish the work from your submission titled "—" in this issue, but I strongly encourage you to continue to submit to our publication. The spatial limitations of the printed page force us every issue to decline scores of wonderful and worthwhile poems. We received a particularly large batch of submissions, and this made our decisions even more difficult than usual.

If you are interested in submitting more of your work to Plainsongs, our next submission deadline is June 15, 2020, for the Fall/Winter 2020/2021 issue. I wish you all the best in life and writing, and again, thank you for allowing us to read your fine work. It was, as always, a privilege.

Sincerely, Eric R. Tucker, editor

2021

Dear --,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. Although your work was not selected to appear in the upcoming winter 2022 issue of Plainsongs, I and the associate editors wish to thank you for your submission. Given the spatial limitations of the printed page, we are forced every issue to decline scores of thoughtful, evocative, and well-crafted poems. Such difficult decisions say nothing at all about the intrinsic value of your creative work. I hope you will choose to send more of your work our way.

If you are interested in submitting more of your poetry to Plainsongs, our next submission deadline is December 15, 2021, for the summer 2022 issue. A sampling of award poems and essays from our recent issues can be found here. I wish you all the best in life and writing, and again, thank you for allowing us to read your fine work. It was, as always, a privilege.

Sincerely,

Eric R. Tucker, editor
