Dear —,

Thank you for sending "—" to The McNeese Review. We're honored you thought of us for your work.

In this case we must, regretfully, decline it for our next issue. While we cannot respond individually to every contributor, please know that we read your work carefully, and that we might be passing on it simply because we feel it doesn't fit within the pattern of pieces we see developing in our next issue.

All the very best to you and for your work. We hope you'll think of us again.

Dear first-name,

Thank you for sending "[ ]" to The McNeese Review. We appreciate your interest in our journal, and we apologize for the long delay in responding. As you may have heard, our home of Lake Charles was hit by two hurricanes this fall, and on top of the pandemic, it extended our response time significantly. So sorry for your long wait to hear from us. Unfortunately these poems aren't quite right for us at this time.

We wish you luck in finding a home for your work.
