Higher Tier 2018
Dear [name],
Thank you very much for sharing your work, '[title]', with us – we so appreciate the chance to read it and reflect on it. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we have decided that it just isn't quite right for our journal.
Of course, you shouldn't regard this as any reflection on the quality or worth of your writing. We receive hundreds of submissions for each issue and can publish very few. We editors frequently make mistakes or are forced to turn away great work – we are, after all, only human and editing is a highly subjective process. We hope that you continue to hone your craft and wish you all the best in finding a home for your work.
We are very grateful to you for thinking of us, and for taking the time to share your writing with us.
