Poetry rejections

Standard+?

2020

Dear first-name,

Thank you for sending your work to Acumen. I have read it carefully and enjoyed many things about it. Unfortunately, I have a great many poems to consider, and though I felt there was much to appreciate in your work, it didn’t quite make it to the short-list.

If you are not already a subscriber to Acumen why not give it a try? It would be interesting for you to see what kind of journal it is in which you are trying to get published. [More about why and how to subscribe]

Thank you

Best wishes

Patricia

Dear First Last

Thank you for sending your work to Acumen. I have read it carefully and enjoyed many things about it. Thank you also for your patience as we have had many submissions to consider, and I wanted to read everything carefully. I felt there was much to appreciate in your work, but due to pressure of numbers and a very full shortlist for 103, it didn’t quite make it this time. Sorry I’ve had to turn away much good work. Good luck getting it placed elsewhere.

If you are not already a subscriber to Acumen, why not give it a try? [Etc.]

Happy to see more of your work in 3-4 months time. Please note that we do not consider simultaneous submissions or work published elsewhere, please confirm that in your cover note and follow the submissions guide on our website.

With best wishes for your writing

Best wishes
