SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THRUSH:

The November 2024 Issue of Thrush Poetry Journal will be our last. THRUSH has been in publication for 13 years, not including an earlier Inaugural Issue release (in December 2011). We had an incredible run for an indie journal!

Staying true to our mission of respect for all writers, inclusion and representation of all voices, fast turnaround time…

This decision has not been an easy one for me, however, a new beginning is sometimes needed. I will be taking a one-year hiatus to allow catch up on life as well as give me the opportunity to plan what can possibly come next, in way of a poetry journal.

It is my hope to morph what was once THRUSH into something new in the future -- Currently, the tentative plan is a new Poetry Journal ( NEW NAME!!) a print only journal, released twice a year Spring/Summer issue – Fall/Winter issue. Stay tuned to FB (THRUSH page) for more announcements down the line.

Rest assured THRUSH Archives will remain on the internet for the long-term future!

Thank you for all the Volunteer TPJ Editors throughout the years for your amazing dedication, hard work, and love of Poetry, (Walter Bjorkman, Ocean Vuong, Nicole Rollender, Zoe Elizabeth, Lance Carpenter, Arian Katsimbras, Samantha Rice, Sarah Lamary, and others who stopped in to help along the way!) thank you to the poets who have shared their outstanding work with us – we have truly been honored to give it a home at THRUSH, thank you to everyone who submitted to us, and, of course, to our readers, who visited our pages by the thousands each day!

We remain proud to have provided space for all voices in Poetry!

  • NOTE: Submissions for the November issue are still open*
